Deepening courses

Deepening courses are all courses and seminars offered to PhD students which are not listed above as basic courses.

Basic and deepening courses can be taken at USI or other universities. A selection of deepening courses is provided by two networks (Swiss School of Public Health; Swiss Public Administration Network), of which USI is part.

PhD students in economics are invited to participate in the Research Seminar in Economics offered every semester. Moreover, every PhD student is obliged to present his/her research at least twice during his studies in the framework of a PhD seminar organized by the professors of economics.

The PhD program offered by the Swiss National Bank at the Study Center Gerzensee is considered equivalent to the PhD program required by USI.
