During the Macroeconomics Forum 2025, scheduled for Tuesday, 6 May, from 5:30 pm to 8 pm at the West Campus Aula Magna of Università della Svizzera italiana (USI), the prize for the best idea for the economic development of Ticino will be awarded. The forum is aimed at the student and academic community, as well as the general public.
All Bachelor's and Master's students currently enrolled in the Faculty of Economics can submit their projects by sending a short essay (1 to 3 pages) in Italian (preferably) or English. The essay can be written individually or in groups of up to 5 people. The project should present a practical idea to stimulate economic development in Ticino. Students are encouraged to consider economic, social, and environmental sustainability, along with the feasibility and potential implementation timelines.
Proposals must be emailed to Professor Edoardo Beretta ([email protected]) by Friday, 18 April 2025. The awarding committee will carefully evaluate all projects.
The best ideas will receive a total of 1,000 Swiss francs, with 500 francs awarded to the best idea from Bachelor's students and 500 francs to the best idea from Master's students. The judging panel comprises Professor Edoardo Beretta, Dr Fabio Bossi (SNB Delegate for Regional Economic Relations for Ticino), and Dean Professor Giovanni Pica.
All students are encouraged to participate, as all proposals submitted will be compiled into a publication for the speakers. This allows candidates to make their "voice" heard through an idea, regardless of the prize.
