The guest lecture 'Trade Policy and Climate Change: An Agenda for Reform' by Thomas Cottier Professor of Law at World Trade Institute (WTI) Bern, will be held on Wednesday, 6 April 2022, at 10:30 am in Room A21 (Red Building) of the West Campus.  

The event is part of the International trade law and sustainable development course of USI Faculty of Economics and is addressed to professors, researchers and students.  

Professor Cottier's talk, introduced by Ilaria Espa, Senior Assistant Professor of International Economic Law at USI, will focus on the importance of international trade for the implementation of climate change mitigation and adaptation policies and objectives. In particular, we will discuss the different regulatory areas in which the World Trade Organization (WTO) can play an important role in combating climate change, with particular reference to preferential agreements and the influence of WTO law on national policies and rights.
