QS World University Rankings by Subject 2023

Università della Svizzera italiana is included in the list of the best universities  in the study of three disciplines, according to the latest QS Quacquarelli Symonds, one of the most widely used and well-known academic rankings globally, along with the Times Higher Education, another international ranking in which USI is well represented.

The 2023 QS World University Rankings by Subjecs, recently published by the global higher education analyst QS Quacquarelli Symonds, names the world's best universities for the study of 54 academic disciplines. The full results are available at https://www.topuniversities.com/subject-rankings/2023

USI's best ranking is in the Computer Science & Information Systems category, where it ranks 351-400 globally and 6th in Switzerland. USI also ranks for Economics & Econometrics (451-500 place globally) and for Medicine (601-650 place globally).  

This year, three new academic disciplines have been included in the QS World University Rankings by Subject: DataScience, Marketing and Art History. QS welcomes feedback from the global higher education community as it seeksto expand these tables for future iterations. QS uses five key metrics to compile the subject rankings. Reputation indicators are based on the responses of 150,000academics and 99,000 employers to QS surveys while Citations per Paper and H-Index measure research impact andproductivity. International Research Network (IRN) is used to assess cross-border research collaboration.
