The Summer School in Finance and Product Markets, held at Università della Svizzera italiana during the week of 24-28 July, welcomed 50 participants, including lecturers, postdocs and PhD students, from Europe, the United States and Asia. Organised by Professor Laurent Frésard (USI and SFI) and Professor Gordon Phillips (Dartmouth), the Summer School offered an intensive research programme focused on exploring the intersection between finance and product markets.

The course introduced participants to the growing area of research focused on the intersection of finance and industrial organisation. The lectures covered the multiple interactions between firms' decisions (real and financial) and their product market environment. Mini seminars were also hosted, and participants presented and discussed their latest research on product markets.

In addition to classroom activities, the event provided opportunities for social interactions. These included an aperitif by Lake Lugano and four group dinners, where students could interact with professors and colleagues.

Special recognition goes to Institute of Finance PhD student Yuhan Ye who conducted two Python text analysis exercise sessions and efficiently organised all the social events throughout the course.
