Data: 27 Ottobre 2023 / 12:00 - 13:30

Aula 354, Main Building

Studies show that a welcoming, inclusive classroom environment coupled with engaging pedagogical technique can enhance student learning. In this workshop we will discuss current thinking about classroom efforts to promote diversity and inclusion and learn about evidence-based approaches to support student learning in economics courses.

The workshop will offer specific strategies for increasing student engagement and inclusivity in the classroom including discussion of a pre-course survey, a community agreement, accessible points of entry for topics, collaborative learning techniques and classroom experiments.  Suggestions provided in this workshop are scalable to classes of all sizes, courses taught at both the undergraduate and graduate level, and classes taught in different modalities such as in person, hybrid, and online.
